Yes, we direct bill to many insurance plans and we provide receipts upon request. Payment methods are e-transfer and cash

What areas do you massage during a full body?

A 45-120 minutes massage includes the posterior and anterior (back and front) legs, the feet, back, abdomen, arms, top of chest, neck, head and face. If there are any area that you would prefer not to get massaged, please let the therapist know at the beginning of the massage and the can work on the area of your choice for longer.

How should I prepare for my first massage appointment?

Difference between Relaxation vs Deep Tissue vs Therapeutic massage?

There a few things to keep in mind prior to arriving to your first massage appointment.

  • Hydrate and use the restroom prior to your appointment

  • You’ll be asked to complete an intake form, this might take a little while so we encourage clients to come in at least 5 minutes early or complete the form prior to theor appointment. Afterwards, your therapist will work with you to create a treatment plan.

  • You’ll be asked to undress, only undressed to your level of comfort. However, you will be covered the entire treatment. Only the area being worked on will be exposed.

  • Don’t be afraid to communicate your needs (if the pressure is too much or too light, please don’t hesitate to inform your therapist)

  • After your treatment, you might be asked how you’re feeling and some stretches and home care recommendations might be given based on your answers.

How often should I get a massage?

Relaxation/ Swedish massage:  A gentle form of massage that uses less tension and targets the superficial muscles and focuses on the parts of the body that tends to carry the most tension. (neck, shoulder & back )

Deep tissue massage: Used to treat chronic pain, muscle and sports related injuries. With deep tissue massage, the aim is to stretch the fascia. The therapist may use their elbows, forearms, and even feet to apply pressure.

Therapeutic massage: this is an umbrella term used to describe any type of massage modality that relieves stress, pain and that works on specific problems. Types of therapeutic massage include Sports massage, myofascial massage, trigger point therapy etc.

How long should my first appointment be?

There is no definite answer to this question since everyone comes in with different needs. However, for general relaxation/ stress reduction anything from once a week to once a month (depending on financial and time constraints). For a specific problem, we will discuss during your consultation, but it may be necessary to have weekly shorter massages to start with in the acute stage and re-assess later on.

I usually recommend that patients make their first appointment at least an hour long. It gets very challenging trying to assess new tissues and effectively treat someone in less than an hour. After your first appointment, the time may be adjusted anywhere from 45 to 120 minutes depending on your individual needs.
